DINOSTAR - HULL

DINOSTAR HULL
I do like Humber Street. In the fruit market area in the Old Town of Hull, it has undergone a bit of a transformation over the last few years and instead of being an area of old and empty fruit warehouses, it is now home to several good bars and restaurants, art galleries and the ‘Fruit’ venue, yet it has still managed to keep its character. There is always something of interest to see or visit in Humber Street.
Dinostar is home to a variety of dinosaur-related exhibits, including a full-size T-rex skull and triceratops bones and lots of interesting facts and information about dinosaurs. Upstairs there is an area where you can do some colouring and where you can brush the sand away to uncover your very own dinosaur. The Child was keen to visit, we enjoyed ambling through looking at everything and learning dinosaur facts and finding the stamps for our card. There is a shop which has a variety of fossils and gemstones for sale and I found a very good fossil book about our coastline, which has proved most useful for identifying some fossils we have found on our recent fossil hunting trips.
There is a lot to do in this area. Afterwards we popped into The Humber Street Gallery for a quick peek at Dead Bod then had a quick table football game outside and then headed off for some refreshment. Although tempted, I did not visit The Humber Street Distillery on this occasion as it was still early afternoon and as it was just me and The Child, I thought this would perhaps not be the most appropriate behaviour... so we went to Thieving Harry’s (one of the best coffees in town) for a drink and some cake. The Marina with more restaurants is just at the end of the street and The Deep is only a couple of minutes walk away.
Dinostar gets a big tick from me, and a big tick from The Child ✔️✔️
Useful Information
Dinostar is open every Saturday and Sunday and in the school holidays (check for exact dates) from 11am to 5pm. Adults £3, Children £1.50
