HAMLEYS - LONDON

HAMLEYS
Location: 188-196 Regent Street
Hamleys – a shop of sparkle, wonder and joy (for the children) and tears, tantrums and financial ruin (for the parents!). We were recently in London and made the obligatory trip to Hamleys.
I love walking through those doors, there is definitely a sense of walking into some magic emporium full of excitement and the yet to be discovered best toys. The people demonstrating the toys are dotted around on each floor. The nostalgic favourites are still on offer – the Hamleys Gliders and the Hamleys Magnificent Bubbles and Hamleys Magic Drawing Board...and the ground floor is still full of as many soft toys as you can shake a stick at.
There are 7 floors in Hamleys, with different categories of toys on each floor. The chances are, anything your children ever wanted, you will find it here. You will also find lots of things that your children didn’t even know they wanted but definitely do now...The problem comes with making a choice about which item to choose as a pocket money treat. I overheard many parents having similar conversations with their children along the lines of how the children could only choose one thing / only had a certain amount to spend. The good news is, is that most of the toys are also available online, so any vague promises made of ‘maybe getting it another time’ / ‘putting it on the list’ are actually a possibility!
There are all sorts of things on at the moment. The new Frozen 2 merchandise has just come into store with Floor 2 hosting a whole magical world of Frozen-ness. If you are visiting the London store, there is a daily parade on every day at 16.00 and if you arrive early enough (10.00 Mon-Fri, 9.30am Saturday, 12.30 Sunday) you can help Hamley and Hattie Bear open the store. Enjoy!
