THE MONUMENT
Location: Next to Pudding Lane at the junction of Monument Street and Fish Street Hill
This was built between 1671 and 1677 to commemorate the Great Fire Of London. Designed by Sir Christopher Wren, the Monument is the tallest isolated stone column in the world and is 61 metres high - the exact distance between the Monument itself and the place where the Fire of London started in Pudding Lane. The golden orb at the top represents the flames of the fire. You can climb the 311 stairs to the top for great views of London.
